Group Description

The Enneagram is a complex and nuanced personality typing system which offers a framework for understanding some of the fundamental drives, processing styles, and coping strategies that shape the way each of us operates in the world.

The philosophy of the Enneagram is aligned with fundamental concepts of psychology and reflects trauma-informed understandings of how the intersection between nature (how we’re wired from birth) and nurture (the environment that surrounds us) shapes our sense of self.

One of the best ways to deepen our understanding of our individuated sense of self (what it’s like to be me and how that differs from what it’s like to be others) is to explore, reflect, and discuss core elements of our personalities in a relational context (group therapy!). This group aims to demystify why you operate the way you do and equip you with language and skills to confidently be yourself while holding space to understand ways in which others experience their inner and outer worlds differently.

**This group is for those who already have a base level understanding of the Enneagram and have identified their dominant archetype. If you are interested in this group and still need guidance in identifying your type, you can explore any or all of the following resources to help:

  • Free typing guidance through “Living The Enneagram”.
  • $20 RHETI test
  • $60 iEQ9 test
  • “The Complete Enneagram” by Beatrice Chestnut
  • “The Enneagram” by Helen Palmer
  • “The Wisdom of the Enneagram” by Riso & Hudson

Objectives of this group include:

  • Deepen your understanding of your personality including driving fears, motivations, strategies, strengths, and vulnerabilities.
  • Increase self-awareness and self-acceptance.
  • Expand language for expressing to others what it’s like to be you.
  • Develop curiosity and understanding about what drives significant differences in patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving in others.
  • Improve individuation (tolerance/acceptance for ways in which you and others are different, even when this involves uncomfortable emotions).
  • Gain clarity about how you show up differently in times of stress versus times of wellbeing.
  • Gain connection and understanding from other group members through discussing similarities and differences among personality styles.

This group is facilitated by trauma therapist, Lauren Mokarry, LPC, and will be led from a trauma-informed perspective.
